The People’s Alliance is happy to announce it has a fifth official candidate in Wes Gullison who will represent the rising of Southwest Miramichi.
Gullison was acclaimed as candidate before a group of his constituents at the Upper Miramichi Lions Club in Boiestown on Thursday evening. With his candidacy now underway, Gullison said he intends to bring a common sense and good old-fashioned hard work approach to his campaign. “I want people in Southwest Miramichi to have a steady source of employment, stabilize their skyrocketing property taxes and ensure necessary services like health care and education are at their fingertips when they need it,” Gullison said. Transportation is another important issue to Gullison as Southwest Miramichi is the largest riding in the province. “There will be a lot of miles to cover between now and September’s election, but I look forward to it because the people of this riding deserve to have someone in Fredericton working in their best interest,” he said. Kris Austin, leader of the People’s Alliance was on hand to welcome Gullison as an official candidate.
“The people of Southwest Miramichi will have a very positive option on their election ballot this fall,” Austin said. “In Wes, they have a candidate dedicated to helping families put food on their tables and roofs over their heads. I’d say that’s a better choice than the Conservative and Liberal MLA’s who would rather line their own pockets and pensions before anything else.”
Wes Gullison was born and raised in the Boiestown area and graduated from Upper Miramichi Regional High School in 1996. He graduated from Compu College, school of business in 2000 earning his diploma in Accounting and Computer Applications.
He has held various forestry-related jobs and has also worked in customer service and employee training with Cendant Canada Inc. Gullison is also well-known locally for his participation in music events and community work which includes benefit shows, fundraiser dinners and Beavers/Cubs.
Wes still lives in the Boiestown area with his wife Sarah and two children Brady and Sophie.
