Frances Connell is a fifth generation Miramichier who grew up at a time when small farms dotted the landscape and the forests were managed with care and responsibility . She would like to see a return to more self sufficiency in growing local food , caring for our fragile environment and initiating small business and self employment schemes .
She received her education in a one room country school and at major universities where she received graduate degrees in education and fine arts . She is a retired teacher and professional artist . As a teacher she is aware of the challenges in education today .
She lived in many parts of the world with her husband who worked in international development . Since he passed away she returned to The Miramichi from British Columbia where she is very active in community , volunteer and parish organizations . She looks forward to the challenges and responsibilities of being a committed candidate of the Peoples Alliance of New Brunswick .
